I spent a lot of time around the Mississinewa, but have only paddled it once. This looks like a good river to paddle in the spring and early summer, but I paddled it in a dry midsummer when the water was a bit too low. I had to portage several shallow areas between Matthews and Upland. I have heard the section around Marion is good, but have not paddled it myself.
