Flatwater Paddling Guide

Chain 'O Lakes State Park

Chain 'O Lakes is a state park in Indiana with nine connected lakes that can be paddled. The lakes are kettle lakes, so they are deep and always have enough water to paddle. The channels connecting the lakes are kept clear, and are usually deep enough to paddle, but may require a little walking after a long dry spell.

Put-Ins

The most popular place to put in is Sand Lake, which has a beach and canoe rentals. The Fort Wayne Kayak group often puts-in it Miller Lake. I usually put-in at Dock Lake. The channel between Weber Lake and Mud Lake is often clogged with enough lake plants and duck weed to make passage impractical.
